Every time I travel up north to cottage country for a wedding, I begin to seriously question why I don’t live there always! It truly is like driving to a different world. I have so many good memories of summers spent at my great-grandmother’s lake house in the Muskokas, so when I go back, it’s always very nostalgic to me.
The smell of the fresh country air.
The sound of water lapping underneath the docks by the lake.
The sumac trees that line the dirt roads.
The charm of driving through a quaint Muskoka town.
Krysta and Erik are Muskoka natives (jeaaaaaloous), and their wedding ceremony took place at Krysta’s family home just outside of Port Carling and then we went into town to Port Carling for the reception. I especially LOVE the ceremony that took place out in the backyard overlooking the lake. So, so picturesque in the warm sunshine. Also, so special because it’s a moment in history that got to happen right at home. All of the bridal party and bride and groom photos were taken on Krysta’s family property, so it was amazing to wander around their home and get such beautiful scenes.
Also, I have mentioned it before, but I want to somehow be adopted into this beautiful family. After spending a day with everyone at Aly+Dan’s Lake Rosseau Wedding, I’m ready to be included in next year’s Christmas card! **Note, apologies for the ‘fuzzy’ quality of the link for Aly+Dan, it fuzzied itself up when I transferred all my old blog posts to a new blog.** And, I already cannot wait for NEXT year, when I get to work with a lot of the same new friends again at another family wedding!
